Account & data deletion
Because Reminda is built on zero-knowledge encryption, deleting your account is a permanent, irreversible action. We cannot recover your data once it is erased.
Warning: permanent erasure
Deleting your account will immediately destroy your master cryptographic keys stored on our authentication servers. Without these keys, your End-to-End Encrypted (E2EE) data becomes permanently inaccessible and will be purged from our databases within 30 days. Active subscriptions will not be automatically refunded.
Method 1: In-app deletion (recommended)
The fastest and most secure way to delete your account is directly through the Reminda application while authenticated.
- Open the Reminda web, iOS, or Android application.
- Navigate to Settings from the main menu.
- Select Account.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- You will be prompted to re-enter your password to confirm this permanent action.
Method 2: Email deletion request
If you no longer have access to the app but still have access to your registered email address, you can submit a manual request.
Please send an email from the exact address associated with your Reminda account to:
Include the subject line "Account Deletion Request". For security purposes, our team will reply to your email to verify identity before initiating the deletion protocol. Processing manual requests may take up to 7 business days.
What happens to your data?
- Encrypted vault data: Your ciphertexts remain mathematically unreadable due to zero-knowledge encryption. Our automated systems will securely overwrite encrypted blobs in our primary database within 30 days.
- Account information: Your email address, hashed password, and session tokens are immediately destroyed upon confirmation of deletion.
